ICON member Tanishta Rajesh participated in the 6th Annual Academy of the International Max Planck Research School for Population, Health and Data Science (IMPRS-PHDS) hosted in Germany. The event gathered global doctoral researchers for workshops and networking. Tanishta presented her thesis on parental conditions and out-of-home child care in Sweden, contributing to a broader project on family inequalities.

Swedish-Finnish conference on health equity
On August 20-21, several ICON members participated in the CHESS-PopHel Conference 2024. The conference was organised as a collaboration between Centre for Health Equity Studies (CHESS), Stockholm University and Helsinki Institute for Demography and Population Health (PopHel), Helsinki University.
ICON at SLLS 2023
Eleven ICON members attended the Society of Longitudinal and Life Course Studies conference in Munich where they organised a symposium “Making or breaking the cycle”. The event included several presentations and a poster presentation on topics such as life expectancy, psychiatric disorders, substance misuse, childhood adversity, resilience and vulnerability, and more. The team also led individual oral presentations related to socioeconomics, loneliness, parental health, and children’s care.
